Scales and Tales

Last night for FHE, we went to the local library for a reptile show by Scales and Tales of Utah with our good friends Colby and Kandis and Art and Evelyn. Parker was actually pretty interested in the giant turtle, iguana, and snake...from afar! He wasn't so excited at the end of the show, however, when we tried to chase him and the animals around the room to get a stinkin' picture! I totally remember going to a show like this when I was little, and volunteering to have the giant boa constrictor strung around my neck! I was hoping Parker would be brave and follow suit...he wasn't. He finally consented to the smaller snake being strung around him and Joe. He wasn't about to touch it (or pretend to be excited about it for the picture)!

Avery pretty much screamed through the whole thing...poor tired, sick, ornery baby! (Who by the way is allergic to amoxicillin!) Anyway, she finally passed out in my arms at the end, which was a good thing before we attempted holding the snake. She would've eaten it for dinner!

I remember passing around a bunch of live snakes in kindergarten. I loved it. My kids think they're cool too. We've been to a couple of the animal shows at the aqarium. Anyway, also, TAG you're it. Check out my blog and you will find the rules of the game. Later.

What a great idea. I am impressed at you willingness to hold the snake. My son recieved a bearded dragon last christmas from santa, and I refuse to touch the thing. Wow your little boys friends will love you! Way to go.. By the way to answer your question it is year around school. Most of Jordan District is for their elementary. Do you live in Jordan or Granite?

Thats it, Im calling Child Protective Services. Wrapping snakes around your babies, feeding them medicine they are allergic to....tisk tisk. I guess I will have to adopt them and turn them into Texans. :)

Parker doesn't know what to think in that picture. I can't stand how snakes smell. I like lizards a lot more.

I can not believe how many comments you get! You are so popular. That looks like fun...Kennadee would not have come near those snakes. I don't think she would have even been held like Parker was, she would have freaked out! I would have been too a little I must admit.

PS - I tagged you!

You are SO brave, I am scared to death of snakes. Parker was a champ in the picture with Joe. Aidan would have been hysterical! What an exciting FHE!

And you labeled this post under "summer fun"??? Good thing Avery is asleep. Parker looks like he wishes he was!

Robyn all I know is that you are the bravest chick alive because there would be no way I would be in the same room as a real snake let alone allow it to be wrapped around me. Yikes!

Snakes creep me out too. I don't think I could even pretend to like one wrapped around me! Carson and Kate are allergic to amoxicillin too. Maybe it isn't as strange as I thought.
