Cruise, Glorious Cruise!

Hi, friends! Is anyone still there? I'm in denial that I no longer have a vacation to look forward to, so pulling myself together to post a blog hasn't exactly happened. And now that I'm ready to share with you all the blissful 8 days I spent away from my children, I can't find the camera cord. So instead I'll give you a few highlights of my Western turned Eastern Carribbean Cruise on the FunShip Carnival Glory!
  • Food, Glorious Food!
  • Sleep, Glorious Sleep!
  • Sun, Glorious Sun!

That pretty much sums it up, but here are a few more glorious moments...

  • Riding on the back of a motor scooter as my husband tried to remember to drive on the LEFT side of the road in Nassau, Bahamas.
  • My husbands brother, Matt pretending he's a race car driver in our rented jeep on the island of St. John (while winding through the mountains also on the left side of the road!) Aaaaahhhhh!
  • Island smoothies.
  • KARAOKE! Joe did an amazing chicken rendition of You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling by the Righteous Brothers.
  • Performing in the last, final big funship show as Gloria Estefan. I looked like a homeless person in the big, black curly wig, but I got to sing Rhythm is Gonna Getcha in front of a few thousand people! My years growing up listening to my dad's favorite Latina singer, Gloria, paid off. Aaaaahhhhh!
  • Learning that you should NEVER, under ANY circumstances go to the beach on the island of St. Maarten unless you want to see lots of wrinkly, fully nekkid bodies. F.U.L.L.Y. N.E.K.K.I.D. Not what I signed up for. I'm still trying to get the images out of my sheltered mind. But the beaches were beautiful!
  • Running (fully clothed) with my (fully clothed) husband on said nude beach.
  • On Deck For the Cure
  • Joe winning the free-throw contest
  • Our cruise director, Butch from Minnesota...ya!
  • Getting dirty looks from the drink servers everytime we ordered ice water.
  • Being more tan than all of my Utah friends...won't last long, but I love it while it lasts!

It was great. It was even greater coming home to my babies. Sort of. But I'm ready for another sleep-ful trip.

Pictures will be up soon, if anyone's still out there. What have YOU been up to?

You already have my wife turning red with jealously. I've been hearing her tell me she wants to go on a cruise for a while now. It sounds like a lot of fun!

And the old wrinkly birthday suit images will only remind you of the distant future that will come faster and faster.

your long lost cuz,

Yes, I hear you in the 'Sleep, GLORIOUS sleep!' I miss that so much! And the F.U.L.L.Y.N.E.K.K.I.D. people... hah hah hah!! I can see the picture in my head of you two standing there being all 'hmm.. who doesn't belong here..?' look on your faces.
Cute post. I can't wait for the pics though!

I am keeping this Blog away from my wife. She has been asking for this kind of trip for years. Glad you had fun.

I wish I could've gone. Two married couples and me.

I can't wait to see the pictures, too. I guess they're on my camera, and if I really felt like it, I could check...but I'll wait.

Some day I vow to go on an amazing vacation like that without my kids. This year though, we get to bring them. I don't even know what it would feel like to go that long without children. I imagine it would be glorious:) Someday...

Do you remember the European woman at the beach in California who got mad at us for having our grill out and cooking at the beach? She told us cooking was NOT allowed...then she stripped nekkid and changed her clothes in front of us, as if it was a normal thing to do. She should have been arrested!

Sounds like a great trip! We'll all have to plan and go together sometime!!

Kelly is right! I am jealous. :) More so over the fact you got to go somewhere that long without your children! It would be nice to do something like that one day. Sounds like you had fun. Can't wait to see pictures!

I love your cruise review. It's definitely accurate. If your friend Aly wants to see some pictures from St. Maarten, I'll send you that one pic...

I think I will remember Butch saying, "ya" forever!

Good times!
