Since my parents were in town, we decided to bless Avery on Sunday. The day was great! I spent about two hours the night before trying on everything that I own...nothing fit! I finally settled on a maternity outfit (sigh...) Oh well...I did just have a baby 3 1/2 weeks ago. (Not to mention the brownies and cookies I've been eating since then...) Anyway, the blessing was beautiful. Avery started crying during it, and Joe's brother Matt noticed that her bow had fallen down and was covering her eyes...he put it back in place, the crying stopped, and Joe made it through. I wish I could remember everything that was said. I do remember him saying that she has been blessed with many talents that will bless her life and the lives of those around her. I feel SO BLESSED to have this precious baby in our home and can't wait to see those talents develop. She slept through most of the day, so we didn't get any pictures of her with all the visitors, but we managed to get a few before church. (Pretty impressive that we were ready early enough to take pictures before 9:00 church, eh?) My SIL is coming over later this week for a photo shoot of Avery in her blessing dress, but here's a preview...

Oh no, I missed it! I went to my old ward on Sunday. One of the boys Art taught in YM is going on a mission. We're stinkin old! Avery looks beautiful and so do you by the way! (I wouldn't worry about the maternity clothes by the way... I wore mine a lot longer than that!) Hope you guys are surviving over there! I'll miss you while I'm gone! Oh and Parker has a comment on my blog from Santa! Love ya, Ev
My favorite picture is the one of "Bapa and Nannu" with me eating a cookie or something in the background on those chairs I was laying on. I think my favorite part of the weekend was on Sunday night after everything was over. It was a good weekend.
No worries Robyn, I wore maternity skirts for a long time (too long!) after I had Emma. They just felt the most comfortable and still looked cute. You really are looking way cute and Joe's pink tie is cool. Avery is beautiful and I love the blessing dress you bought for her. I hope the next baby we have would be another girl, so I could re-use all Emma's clothes, but ALSO buy her a sweet blessing dress like that!
What a beautiful blessing dress for a beautiful baby girl! She is so adorable. What a cute family you guys are!
Oh, she looks so cute and I love her bow! Wow...it looks like you guys have been getting lots of snow. I have to agree with you...I think it would be so nice sometimes to have a nanny, at least for several hours a day so I could get stuff done without interuptions! I was trying to edge the grass today and I had to stop 9 million times to keep putting Sophie's hat back on...because she kept pulling it off, even with the velcro straps.
She is just so cute! She looks like she is already getting chubby cheeks and everything! I feel so sad that I haven't seen her yet...give her lots of hugs and kisses from me!
Memories.....Where did the time go?! We really kept busy didn't we? I'm so glad I got to spend the time with you and the kids! Two weeks is a long time to have your mother-in-law around. My mom always said that company is like fish and begins to stink after three days! I love you guys! Keep those pictures coming!
What a gorgeous blessing dress. I can't stand it - I want to squeeze her and kiss her. Love the newborn stage. It's my absolute favorite (I know, I keep saying that). It just goes too fast.
I just wrote another comment but it didnt show up.....
You look awesome, dont sweat it! You have 3 more weeks of post partum. Just enjoy your baby and relax and give her lots of kisses. She looks gorgeous in white. There is nothing like a new baby all in white. Make sure you get a picture with her in all white when you SIL comes. You guys are so great! Congrats again.
Okay what in the heck is SIL. I can't stand it when you speak in CODE!!!! Avery is just beautiful in her white blessing dress. You have lots of good times ahead of you. Love you lots!
So cute. I can't believe you blessed her already, I was so paranoid to take Gweniveve to church forever!!! But I couldn't pass up having my parents there either.
