Parker's Letter of Apology

Dear Mommy and Nannu,

Since you've almost survived this miserable week, I thought I should write a letter apologizing for being such a terror. Somehow you've still managed to give me love and kisses, although at times I'm sure you've wanted to strangle me instead.

Nannu, you just came at a bad time for me. First came the new baby. I adore her, but despise how much of my mommy's time she demands. Mommy thought she would remedy that by bringing you over to play with me. So you're part of the baby package. I've discovered that Avery is here to stay, so I guess you can too. Let's get out of the stinkin' house to go do something fun! My mommy's starting to look like that kid on American Idol who Simon thought had been shut up in his bedroom for a month! We could all use some fresh air!

I thought having an ear infection, running a 104 degree temperature, and having an allergic reaction to the antibiotic would be enough to warrant some attention. I guess I'm more fun in my healthy state. Being sick did allow me some alone time with mommy, however, on all our trips to the doctor's office and pharmacy. So thanks for being here to stay home with the baby, Nannu. Three trips for me and one for Avery in one week...pretty good, eh?

I'm sorry for screaming for juice and crying when you gave it to me. I'm sorry for being so demanding that neither of you could shower until the day was almost over on Tuesday. I'm also sorry for the big tantrum I threw last night. I was pretty inconsolable until the minute daddy walked in the door. That was a mean trick.

I'm starting to feel a lot better, other than the darn hives all over my face. Who knew I'd be allergic to Omnicef? The Benadryl seems to be working, but it's making me super sleepy. Maybe I'll actually take a long nap today. You both deserve a little break.

Life will go on. It's nice to know that you both still love me, even without this apology letter. You know something? I love you too!

Love always,
Parker

P.S. Nannu, do you think you could stay longer? My mommy's going to be so sad when you leave! But if you do, stop hiding my toys...I like them scattered all over the floor instead of shut up in the closet! Thanks!

I think Ellie wrote the very same apology letter when Ammon was about 3 weeks old... Weird! Man, it sounds like you guys have had a rough week! I promise it will get better! It really will! Good luck!
PS The pictures of those two are to die for! I love them! We miss you guys too! Oh and thanks for the yummy cookies!

As if the week hadn't been bad enough! Geeze! Parker has hives?! I told you that Omnicef was no good. Give him extra kisses and hugs from me, just don't tell him they're from me or else he won't want them! Hang in there...I loved the letter...it was very, very cute and funny!

CALL ME the second your mom leaves--I'll be over to keep Parker in the basement with Carter for a few hours while you wrap your brain around the fact that you will actually have to be alone with the two of them all day! I'll be praying for you and bringing you dinner (and by the way, thanks for feeding my husband this week! Isn't there some rule that says you can't feed other people until your baby is six months old?) CALL ME!

I like how mom put it: "He cries whenever I look at him." I'm glad I've missed most of meltdown week. You seem to have forgotten that Parker really wanted to visit his uncle Michael in Provo...he said so on the phone.

What a disaster! I feel for you friend and have to say that your week probably has been worse than mine. Hang in there!

Oh the joys of parenting! It sounds like you have had an eventful week. I know all about temperatures and allergic reactions to antibiotics! I hope that you are having a great time with your mom despite the trauma! No matter what, things are always better when mom/grandma are around!
Take care!

Wow...sounds like you have had one of those weeks. Reading that actually makes me laugh because sometimes I feel like there is no way I am going to survive one more day of being a Mom. It is so hard sometimes to just be patient and deal with everything. There is no way I could do what you are doing. Well hopefully things will calm down a bit and you can shower before lunch! I wish I lived closer to come help out. I wonder if Parker would like screaming with Sydney and Sophie (there new favorite game...)

This letter sure sounds like it has been a very hard week for Parker. He just can't figure out what the heck is going on here. This is probably the hardest week for all of you. Lots and lots of adjustments. The letter just says it all!! IT was a delight to see her today, and PARKER. LOVe ya,
