Twilight!

OK...I have lots of catching up to do. Most of it involves NO sleep, lots of driving (3400 miles worth), lots of poop (all in the potty!), lots of food, and lots of fun. The fun began two nights before the first 27-hour leg of our journey to Nashville. I'm not sure why I agreed to see a movie at 12:15 am (which didn't actually start until 1 am due to technical sound difficulties), but HELLO, it was Edward. I'm not sure if I would've loved it if I hadn't read the books...low budget at it's best. And actually, I'm not sure I loved it anyway...because I couldn't stay awake! I would say that I must be getting old, but let's be honest. Even in High School, I couldn't watch a movie after 10:00 pm. But the girl's night out was a blast (even though I only knew three of the girls...we were all BFF's fighting over Edward...ha ha!)

Here's what Kandis had to say about the night...

Ok, Ok, we all knew the movie wouldn't meet our expectations, and if I hadn't read the book I would have been sitting there wondering why I was at such a craptastic movie instead of sleeping. But hey, Edward was cute, there were only a few really awkward scenes, and I was with my girls--so all in all, I'd consider it a great night! (Half of my fun came from looking over every few minutes to see Robyn dead asleep with her mouth hanging open:) Sorry Robyn, you've been outed! It was hilarious! Aren't you glad you didn't snore?!

So yes...I guess I'm glad I didn't snore! But I have to see it again...who wants to come? I'm totally up for a matinee!

As for our ROADtrip to Nashville, it was great. The kids did amazingly well. Parker pooped in THREE different gas stations. And these poops usually coincided with Avery's poopy diapers. Tender mercy? I think so. When we finally arrived in Nashville, however, I was really tempted to inform you all that we were NEVER coming home. I couldn't fathom turning around and driving across the $%@# country again. But we did. And we survived. And MAYBE we'll do it again...in like 10 years. I'll never complain about a layover again!

Before the trip, we subscribed to Sirius Satellite Radio so we could listen to a certain football game. Joe now hates the state of Nebraska, but I won't go into details. 'Nuff said. Go Utes!

More on the trip later...I know you're all dying to see pictures, right? So am I! Send me some, mom!

Edited To Say: Parker is POOPING in the potty, but far from potty-trained. I actually gave up yesterday after cleaning pee off the floor 5 times. So for now, I'm happy with the poop in the potty, and the pee still in diapers!

I'm so relieved to hear you made it back in one piece! And with such happy potty news! I seriously can't believe it! I'm looking forward to the TN pics. That is the worst part about driving a long time to get somewhere...the thought of going back...ugh.

As for Edward...it was just the wrong time of morning for you...if it was at 5:30am you'd be wide awake while the rest of us dozed off! Next time talk the girls into another time of the middle of the night!! :)

You're so brave! That's a long trip. Sounds like quite an exciting adventure.
I can't believe Parker is pooping in the potty! Now I'm feeling really guilty about being so lame and not daring to start potty training Audrey.
I felt the same way about Twilight. It was definitely a must-see because I would always wonder if I hadn't gone. But... it was less than thrilling. The effects were a little hokey and I found myself laughing outloud at the wrong time. (I got a few glares for that one) I also didn't think I would have known what the heck was going on if I hadn't already read the book. But... Edward is still the sexiest idea ever. Is it wrong that I came home wishing my husband would sparkle in the sunlight?

That's exciting that Parker is potty trained! Hooray...and a double hooray that he kept it up on a long road trip. I can't believe you drove all the way to TN with the kids. I could barely make it up to Utah (and I never wanted to come back to AZ). I think traveling with kids is just not that much fun...maybe when they are older?

So I really liked Edward and Bella they totally grew on me. I didn't think that I would like the actors but I loved Edwards voice and little accent. I have seen it twice and liked both movies, but I am easy to please when it comes to movies. I was sad that they left out so many of the great dialogue between edward and bella though.

You're a goofball! I haven't seen the movie yet (or read the books). I'm sure I'll get around to it eventually (the movie anyways).

That is awesome about Parker! I think Max did the same thing...it took him a lot longer to have the pee thing under control:)

YAY! Really long roadtrip aside, I'm glad you got to see your parents for Thanksgiving!

P.S. Send me a post card when you finish running to Disneyland...I bow down to you! I just took my ticker off of my blog, I'm hopeless:(

Just think, only five more hours in the car and you could have been at my house. It would have been worth it, I promise. Did you not see pictures of the cake I bought at Cheesecake factory? I'd show you again, but, um, we ate it. Yes, all of it.

Did you just say "Go Utes!" Who are you? We all have mortal enemies in this life...all of mine go to the U. JK, but still...

I'm glad Parker pooped in the potty several times. At what point do we stop hearing about the pooping? When he's completely trained, or do we have to hear about accidents, then?

Haha1 I saw it at 12:15 too! So funny, I loved it and saw it again the same weekend with Chris (who hasn't read the books but still liked it! I'm also optimistic about the next one. Since the know they ill make tons of money, I'm sure the budget will be way better!

Look out, long comment coming. I feel like this post was taken right out of my brain about two weeks ago...that said, hang in there on the potty-training, it's right around the corner...Reagan is proof! He was having so many accidents, that I wondered why I put him in pull-ups at all, let alone trying underwear! But, here we are, a few weeks and many, many mopped-up-floors-and-scrubbed-carpets later, and he has been dry for 5 days without incident! It will happen, he's my third potty-trainer and my hardest. If he can do it, anybody can! As for Twilight, I totally agree that it was very mediocre. However, I have since gone back and seen it a second time with an open mind, forgetting the book, and I really liked it. Focus on the music, it really helps.

Nice, I'm so jealous that you got to see Twlight and I'll be waiting for details about your long trip!

Yeah Parker ! ! ! That is always such a happy day when a child goes poop on the potty. And your friend was right -- the "total transformation" is just around the corner and well worth the cleanups along the way. Hang in there ! ! !

If it makes you feel any better, Aidan poops in the potty but pees in his pull ups, too... he just can't get the hang of number one in the potty the way he can number two, go figure...also, we had the baby and named him Parker!!! I will give all details in a few days on my blog.

I'm sure glad Joe didn't listen to that game in Tennessee!! It's just fine with me if he hates Nebraska. It was soooo much fun having you here. I can't bring myself to put the train set back in the box. Our house has little echoes of the kids and I'm not ready to say goodbye. Sorry I haven't sent any pictures to you yet. Don't hold your breath...I haven't even posted my "Twilight" post yet, and it's been almost ready to post since before you came.

Road trips with kids,(sigh) I feel your pain and potty training along the way, all I can say is way to go Robyn!! I thought that 13 hours was a long drive but 24, WOW! Hope you are recovering well.
