Zabela vs. Henrietta

I'm going to attach an email from my dad with a list of names he thinks would be PERFECT for our baby girl...I think I'm going to need a bit more input...what do y'all think?

OK, so I’m thinking about my second granddaughter who is about to come into the world.
Yes, I’m excited.
I’m thinking we should help Robyn with the baby’s name.
Maybe all y’all should blog about potential names.
Seeing as I don’t blog too much I wanted to get things started with potential names for the cute little girl.
Here is my initial list:
Harriet
Henrietta
Gina
Carmen
Julie
Kimberly
Diane (my favorite – this should be her middle name)
Bobby (then we could say what about Bobby)
Roberta
Sherri
Shirley
Shirleen
Frances (Do you know how to tell if this is a boy or girl Frances?)
Hermana
Little sis
Big sis
Diego (Devon didn’t use it so it must be open)
Pamela
Marcia
Terri
Stacey
Laura
Kelli
Frederica
Janice

OK, this isn’t my top 25 but that is all I could come up with.

Have a great day. I hope this helps with your selection process.

I love all y’all.
Dad

And here's Devon's response...also a GREAT big help...

Here are my leading names.
Juanita
Angelita
Blanca
Enriqueta
Esperanza
Jesusa
Macarena
Marisol
Paca
Peppi

My Favorite Zabela Diane Gadd,

You have to admit, it has a ring to it!

Since you no longer live in Sunny So Cal you should definitely give her a spanish name in memory of your days here! Maybe Monique or something exotic like that!

Okay, I know your dad...he wasn't born in 1910, but his list sure was! Too funny. Steer clear of anything that you've ever heard on an old lady. Or a Spanish chiquita for that matter. Even if you DID live in So Cal, it is no reason to punish your unborn child. :-)

I really like old fashioned names....but I think your list needs a little work...good thing you have a few months to decide! Bob always the funny guy!!!

I think if you're gonna go Spanish, you should name her Santos. It works for boys and girls, old and young. You could even expand the name to something like Santos Dolores or Santos de Maria del Senor Jesus Gadd! Why not go religious and Spanish in naming your child.

You are going to see that there are hundred of little girl names that you are going to LOVE! The right one will come to you. Whatever it is, it will fit!

By the time I got to my fourth daughter it was really getting hard to think of names- I always panicked at the end and then could never decide if it was right or not- I truly am a spaz!

Robyn, I think that the suggestions are great but think on them for a while and just put them away!!!!!
