Our First "Parker-Free" Night

A few nights ago, Joe's brother John called to see if we wanted to stay at an amazing 5-Star resort in Park City (The Stein Eriksen Lodge and Resort) for FREE. Everyone from his law firm was staying there for a retreat for a few nights, but they couldn't stay Friday night because of the Logan marathon he was running today. SOOOOOO, we got to stay in their place! We dropped Parker off at Joe's mom's house yesterday. As much as I missed him, it was a really nice break. Kimberly keeps reminding me that Joe and I need to go on lots of dates before the baby's born, so this was a great excuse.

John told us to try and look inconspicuous...not to announce to the world that the room guests had changed. It was funny because when we first got there, Joe and I could not figure out how to get to the rooms, so we walked around carrying our stuff looking like idiots searching every door until we finally figured out where to go. We went to dinner, then came back and enjoyed the beautiful room and view. I was actually really excited because our little get-away gave me the chance to finish Harry Potter! Considering I started Book #1 about a month ago, I've been spending every nap-time and spare minute reading. I LOVED the final book, but was actually really sad for it to end. Yes, I cried. I've been dreaming Harry Potter, so I'm going to go through serious withdrawals.

This morning Joe went on a long run in preparation for the St. George marathon while I finished the book. Then we went and got bagels for breakfast, shopped at the outlets, and went to pick up our child. I expected him to squeal with delight when we walked in, but he just sort of looked at me and kept doing what he was doing. I guess we'll have to leave him more often...

What a fun little get away. I can just picture you and Joe trying to look inconspicuous while you are trying to figure out where the rooms are! Funny! I'm glad Parker did so well at his Grandma's house. I'm sure she had fun with him. Love ya.

I remember leaving Taylor for the first time and feeling a little let down when she didn't run with open arms to greet me. I'm glad you were finally able to get away and enjoy some Robyn and Joe time. It wasn't that long ago that you were just Robyn and Joe, but doesn't it feel like forever ago? Weird how that happens!

I think that you should have taken a vacation from Harry Potter, as well. Hopefully Joe didn't feel jealous of Harry and friends. I wish I had known you were up there. I would've met you up there for lunch or something...since my life is so unromantic right now.

Oooh...that sounds like so much fun. It looks gorgeous from the pictures and I bet it was fun to spend some time without Parker. I'm sorry you're all done with Harry Potter...I miss it too, and I'm a little sad that I can't really "escape" into the wizarding world anymore. I think that's why I love those books so much because it just takes my mind off of EVERYTHING I might possibly be worrying about in my own world!

How fun! I love getaways...but it is hard to not feel guilty! It is very addicting though...once you getaway once you countdown to the next time! I love park city! I loved Harry Potter too...and was so sad that it was over. I was reading Eclipse right after I finished HP7 and I was really tired and I kept falling asleep dreaming that it was a vampire/wizard book it was so weird...so in other words I was having HP dreams too! Can't wait to find out what #2 is!!!!!

That sound really great and it does rejuvinate you. I laugh about the two of you trying to be inconspicuous. Parker is starting to be his own little person and that is so cute.
