Blissful Bumbo Baby Blowouts!

Dearest Makers of the Bumbo Baby Seat ,

Yesterday my mommy bought one of your super Bumbo seats. She was excited about all the cool features she read about...

"The Bumbo Baby Seat is a snug and cozy environment for your baby. This revolutionary infant chair is uniquely designed according to the baby’s posture. The Bumbo enables babies to sit upright all by themselves! Bumbo Baby Seats are suitable for babies from as soon as they can support their own heads unaided until they can get out of the seat on their own."

The soft pink foam is squishy and fabulous. I could sit in my comfy new Bumbo all day long. My mom contemplated purchasing this chair for several months so that she could have the "extra set of hands" you talk about. You need to be aware, however, that she would have bought it MUCH SOONER if you'd advertised the REAL benefit!

You see, I've been constipated for the majority of my short life. That's right...it's a miracle if I poop twice in one week! My mom is up with me several times each night. Sure I wake up to eat, but mostly I wake up to let out lots and lots of stinky air.

Nursing is never a peaceful time for me. I squirm, yelp, kick, and let out more gas until my tummy is full. The problem is that it's ALWAYS full because it never gets emptied! Adding rice cereal to my diet has only increased the constipation. This is where YOU come in, dear Bumbo makers.

Every time I sit in the Bumbo, we're guaranteed a major blowout! My mom's friend, Aly told her this would happen. Boy was she right!!! As I become more regular, maybe the blowouts won't be so major. My tummy, however, thanks you either way!

So here's my advice along with my own testimonial. Add the feature of preventing and curing constipation to your Bumbo description, and your sales will be through the roof! It really is the greatest thing since sliced bread!

Happily yours,

The Blowout Queen

I got the idea for a "letter from a customer" from my hilarious cousin, Christie. A few months ago, she wrote a witty letter to the Quaker Crispy Rice Cakes people.

I've heard about the Bumbo...it's such a neat idea. I wonder if it's the sitting upright that sort of helps work things out... Maybe they need to turn it into some kind of potty chair!!! Put a hole in the bottom and sit her on the toilet!!!

Adorable pictures!!

You are soooooo funny! I think you should really send that letter just as it is to Bumbo with the pictures attached! I bet it would be a hit! I can't stop laughing and I especially love the before and after pictures! You are so creative, Robyn! Ev

Robyn, you're so clever and cute. I love the way you wrote this. You will only find more and more love for the bumbo as time goes on. My favorite was taking it down to the beach so my baby could squish her toes in the sand and splash in the water. We loved the bumbo so much at our house we even made up a lovely little ditty about it that we would sing to Audrey every time we put her in it. Hooray for Bumbo!

I can't believe how big Avery is getting, she is changing so quickly. What a cutie. As for the seat are you telling me I'll be seeing you at the early morning classes more often? Sweet! I do love the pictures.

Haha! You are too funny! I guess we'll have to register for our own Bumbo... in blue though!

I love the before (looking constipated) and after (looking very happy and relieved) photos. I can't believe it worked! Maybe I need one of those for Taylor...ha ha!

She is so cute! I loved my bumbo when Carter was little like that. He always liked it too. Since he was not constipated I was not even aware of the extra bonus attatached to it. Jillian was always constipated too. We tried a bunch of things to help her and finally some health food store worker suggested a mixture of (if I can remember correctly) flax seed oil & aleovera juice. We put a few drops of each into a little water or juice with the hope of it lubricating the insides and it seemed to do the trick. She was much better and has had very few problems in this area since. It is always interesting to see what you can pick up at the health food store:).

That is funny. Who knew it could relieve such problems! She is a doll!

I can totally relate, Gwenie had this problem the first 2 1/2 months, to young for the bumbo. I stopped nursing and that was the trick for me, my breast milk was POISON!!!! Avery is so cute, reminds me of Taylor when she was little.

That is awesome! Do you think Marcus could fit in that thing?

I love the testimonial and the before and after pictures. What a wonderful chair to have. I wonder if they make those for BIG OLD PEOPLE. That would be a great invention. Love the blog and keeping up withwhat is going on.

I hate constipation. We have had this problem with Nicky since she started solids and now she is on medicine every day. I wish I would have known back in the day. Maybe it would have helped with some of our sleepless nights. Funny post!

Just prepping her for the potty, right? :-)

I never had a Bumbo but bought my neighbor one with the intention of borrowing it with my next child. problem is I heard they'be been recalled?

Unknown said...

They were recalled, but now have a big warning on them just not to use them on countertops or high places because obviously babies can still eventually wiggle out of them....that should be a no-brainer, but I guess some kids were seriously hurt!

She looks dang happy in the Bumbo! Too funny, but I am glad it works.

I'm so glad you finally got one... I do wish that everyone would stop wondering if they made them for "big people." I don't want to think about that.

I will be buying for our next baby, for sure. The pictures are so funny!

Ahhh...the hidden benefits of a BUMBO chair! Who knew?

Sarah Beck said...

Robyn, she's so cute! And I've heard tons of people love the bumbo--though I never heard of it to help with constipation :) I had never heard of them before when my kids were that age. I'm glad you found something that makes both your lives easier!

What a crack up...just for the record they had the same effect on my baby too. She is so cute - glad you found my blog I've been looking at yours, Kimberly,Micheals and your parents blogs for a while now. I just rarely leave comments. I'll try to remember to leave a comment so you all know I'm checking in on your cute families. Your kids are adorable - and I'm hoping maybe next year I can start running half marathons. I have a really long way to go but it's awesome that your hubby does the marathons so much! Talk to you later
